Our Culture & Community

Our Culture & Community

Our people, passion and patients are at the core of our culture. From innovative practice design and work-life balance, to employee celebrations and community impact, take a look at why so many of our physicians and advanced practice clinicians enjoy and appreciate calling Hendricks Regional Health, and Hendricks County, home.

Life at Hendricks

Big-Minded, Swift-Moving

We work with primary care physicians in an innovative ACO care model to improve health in our community and break down communication barriers. We have forged a new ACO best practice, sparking interest from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

The Future of Hendricks

We don’t just strive for collaboration, we celebrate it at every turn. In fact, we put it on a shirt and gave one to every single associate and volunteer. Collaboration is one of our seven core values, inclusive of Respect, Empathy, Integrity, Courage, Collaboration, Loyalty and Engagement.

Our Collaboration

We create practice environments that are team-focused and fully integrated for a holistic approach to care. We believe in building a strong preventative health model that puts patients, not volumes, first.

Hendricks thrives in a close-knit, growing community in Danville, Indiana, and Hendricks County. We partner and volunteer with over 200 organizations each year, all with unique missions to make our region a healthier, happier place to live.

Work-Life Balance

Professional Growth

New physicians are encouraged to be fully immersed in designing their practice or schedule. To help our physicians achieve their desired level of work-life balance, we engage them early on in designing how they will practice and exploring flexible scheduling opportunities.

We support our physicians in growing their practice and pursuing leadership opportunities. We encourage family practice physicians to foster their interests in focuses such as child and adolescent medicine, geriatrics, administrative leadership, sports and exercise medicine, and others. These opportunities strengthen the comprehensive continuum of care, which is the hallmark of family practice.

Patient Support

Advanced Practice

Our primary care physicians are fully supported by a team of wellness experts that include registered dietitians, certified wellness coaches, exercise physiologists and medical social workers. Getting wellness resources for a patient or family is as easy as requesting it through our shared EMR system.

We are at the forefront of smart, innovative deployment of advanced practice clinicians and health professionals. We encourage our advanced practice clinicians to grow their scope of practice, develop special interests and practice at the highest level of their training with the support of our physicians.

Employee Wellness

Employee Appreciation

Our innovative employee wellness programs include low-cost, on-site fitness classes and fitness center access, free annual health risk assessments and biometric screenings and adult immunization programs, as well as wellness coaching services.

From Movie Nights to Indianapolis Zoo Days, we honor employees with fun activities that promote team happiness and support the community. King’s Island Trips and Ice Cream Recognitions are just a few of many favorites.

Exceptional Benefits

Nationally Recognized

We offer a competitive benefits package for our physicians that includes comprehensive medical coverage, 403b Tax Sheltered Annuity Plan with employer matching, generous paid time off and much more. Learn more about our physician benefits.

As illustrated by our renowned awards, accolades and accreditations we receive for our high quality, patient-centered care, you’ll practice every day at a place that is truly the antidote to average. Learn about our recognitions and opportunities.

Putting the Community First

At Hendricks Regional Health, we get involved with numerous organizations that support the health and well-being of Hendricks and surrounding counties. Each summer our employees serve lunch to the officers, firefighters and first responders in our community to show appreciation for their selfless work. We are a host site for Family Promise, which serves homeless families in our region, and we also support Habitat for Humanity, helping to not just build healthy, affordable homes, but to also help build hope.

At the Hendricks County 4-H Fair, Hendricks Regional Health provides nearly 1,000 man hours through delivery of medical coverage and health education for the event’s 55,000 visitors. These are just a few of the many examples in which our associates engage in the community and have the opportunity to get involved in a variety of outreach initiatives throughout the year.

I’ve worked with several different hospital systems through my training and residency, and I think the difference in working for Hendricks is that they really value our input. If I need to speak with someone in Administration, I could do that, and they get back to us quickly. We have regular meetings to make sure things are going well in our practice, and that we’re going in the direction that we want to be going.

The Hendricks Way: A Letter From Our CEO

Kevin Speer, JD, President & CEO

At Hendricks, we strive to live our seven values of Respect, Empathy, Integrity, Courage, Collaboration, Loyalty and Engagement. We’re proud of these values and what they represent. A team of 17 peer-nominated Patient Experience Champions – which includes four physicians – helped us to select them. These values truly represent who we are as healthcare professionals, who we are as people and who we are as one united organization of 1,700 associates. To put it simply, they represent The Hendricks Way.

Our vision and values make us different than other healthcare providers, and our focus on community support, our physicians and associates, and quality of care, is truly remarkable. This is key to living out our mission to stay an independent healthcare partner for the community we have served for over half a century. We will achieve this mission by maintaining our strong financial presence and being innovative and agile in our response to the changing healthcare landscape.

I am excited for what the future brings for Hendricks Regional Health. We sincerely hope you consider being a part of that future, and we look forward to welcoming you to the Hendricks family.

Very sincerely,

Kevin P. Speer, President & CEO
